Estimated time to deploy - 20 minutes

Step 1 - creating the deployment content

Create a new folder, and in that folder put the following:

  • the NxLog installation MSI, found here
  • the Loom certificate bundle, found here
  • the NxLog configuration, which can be generated on the data-input page in your Loom web application

Create another file in the folder and name it install.bat
The  content of that file should be the following:

@echo off

REM Install NxLog
cmd /c Msiexec /I nxlog-ce-2.9.1716.msi /qn

REM Copy certificate and configuration files
cmd /c copy /Y loom.cer "C:\Program Files (x86)\nxlog\cert"
cmd /c copy /Y nxlog.conf "C:\Program Files (x86)\nxlog\conf"

REM Start nxlog
cmd /c net stop nxlog
cmd /c net start nxlog

Step 2 - creating the deployment package in SCCM

Go to SCCM, and under Applications, right-click Packages and select "create package". Name the package (e.g. nxlog) and tick the "this package contains source file" checkbox. Click browse and select the folder created in the previous step.
Click Next, then specify install.bat as the "Command line". Set the program to run whether or not a user is logged on. Choose "Install" as the name.
Click next until the wizard is complete.

Step 3 - distribute the package

Select the newly created package and click the "Distribute Command" button.
Follow the instructions to select the desired distribution targets.
