Neutron can be configured using the following network modes:
-Local mode which is a network that consists of a single host and mostly used for development environments.

-Flat mode which is a simple networking mode which connects all the devices to a single switch . The topology of the network is not segmented which means all devices on the network are part of the same broadcast area.

-VLAN mode that allows logical partitioning of the network at the data link layer and help reduce network traffic by forming multiple broadcast domains, breakup a large network into smaller independent segments with less total broadcast traffic sent to every device on the overall network.

-GRE mode that allows a private, secure path for transporting packets through an otherwise public network by encapsulating or tunneling the packets.
