Installing on SUSE Linux requires some additional manual steps, as detailed in this guide.
Note: this article references the Single-Server (all-in-one) installation mode. For cluster installation, contact Loom support.
Note: these instructions were compiled and tested with
SLES 15 SP1. Some modifications might be required when using older versions.
Step 1 - Install Docker & Docker-compose
# Install Docker (version 18 is required)
sudo zypper install docker
sudo systemctl enable docker.service
sudo systemctl start docker.service
sudo usermod -aG docker $(whoami)
# Install Docker-Compose
sudo curl -L "https://github.com/docker/compose/releases/download/1.24.1/docker-compose-$(uname -s)-$(uname -m)" -o /usr/local/bin/docker-compose
sudo chmod +x /usr/local/bin/docker-compose
Step 2 - Create a user named loom
sudo useradd -r -s /sbin/nologin -d "/opt/loom" -m -U "loom"
# add current user to loom group
sudo usermod -a -G loom "$(whoami)"
Step 3 - Create a Symbolic link for python
sudo ln -s /usr/bin/python3 /usr/bin/python
Step 4 - Install Sophie
# replace with the provided package name and extracted folder
tar xf loom-onprem-...tar.gz
# start the deployment
Follow the on-screen instructions. Once the installation is complete, open your browser and navigate to the address of the server!
