System Requirements for On-Premise Sophie Installation
This topic outlines the minimum specifications required for an on-premise installation of Sophie. Before installing Sophie, please ensure that your environment meets both the software and hardware requirements described below.
Sophie is packaged in a tarball, containing bash installation scripts and archived Docker containers. Use these files, sent to you by your Loom-Systems' customer success manager, to install Sophie on your designated server/virtual machine.
The following operating system versions (or newer) are supported:
- CentOS 7.4
- Red Hat 7.4
Supported File Systems
Sophie supports both Ext4 and XFS for Linux platform.
Sophie web application supports Google Chrome version 66 and later when viewed on a 19” screen or larger.
Future upgrades maintain support for browser versions no older than six months prior to the upgrade.
Sophie’s resource requirements are dependent on the volume, shape (average and burst), and characteristics of the data input.
Minimum Hardware Required:
- 16 CPU Cores
- 32 GB RAM
- 100GB SSD drive, mounted on / (root)
- 700GB SSD drive, mounted under the /opt/loom path
- 32 CPU Cores
- 64 GB RAM
- 200GB SSD drive, mounted on / (root)
- 2TB SSD drive, mounted under the /opt/loom path
Swap must be turned off for peak performance.
To turn off swap use the following command:
sudo swapoff -a
Running this command can take a long time, depends on how much is being used by the swap (ex: to free 1gb of swap can take about 10 min)
